A long awaited new exhibition of previously unseen work.
UPDATE: Sold work has now been removed from the Gallery but there are still plenty of works to see.
Over a five year period and during numerous visits, Tracy immersed herself in the most beautiful parts of the Hebridean Islands and the West coast of Scotland, to create this new collection of work. In all weathers en plein air on wild and remote beaches, Tracy produced fifty paintings. Upon her return to the studio, she created large canvases alongside a series of oils whilst the magic and memory of the places were still within her grasp.
Key locations include, Isle of Harris, Isle of Skye, Ullapool, Isle of Mull, Iona and Ardnamurchan. The ever changing dramatic weather of these magical places with the incredible light and colours are revealed in this body of work. Tracy acquired special permission to reach a secluded beach where she captured the isolation and serenity whilst feeling like she was working in a transcendent place in-between heaven and earth. Being There, Tracy’s largest painting to date, resulted from this visit and needs to be viewed in person to appreciate both its size and impact. Alongside her larger pieces, smaller works painted in situ depict Tracy’s immediate spontaneous and emotional response to the changing weather, light and colours.
This exhibition demonstrates her passion and connection to the land and seascape featuring serene idyllic beaches alongside dramatic landscapes with stormy clouds and atmospheric locks.
