The past weeks have seen me immersed and engrossed in this Blackbird series. Initially inspired by the amount of Blackbirds visiting the garden during the very cold weather the work developed over many stages and layers and I loved every minute of it. It was quite a long and tricky process and I’m very pleased with the results. 
There are 6 mixed media paintings that are combined with mono printing in the series, all similar but each very unique. The background shines and sparkles like diamonds in real life, which isn’t quite as apparent in the photograph!
The first one has been hung in the studio and you are most welcome to arrange a visit.
