The NEW Studio and Gallery space.

On show ..An exhibition of work including new paintings based on local landscapes and the Scottish Islands.

Purpose built in 2018..

Some land was purchased from the Methodist Church behind the old studio and an 8 month building work project began summer 2017.

The result is a new light filled space which was designed by Tracy and her son Oliver. It has been an exciting project and attention to detail has been a priority for them both. To create a space with consideration for both the aesthetic and the practical has been the focus. Oliver’s interior design skills are evident in this new build. He works for Path Design in London, with a main interest in restaurant design. Tracy and Oliver have teamed up well to create this beautiful space. For Tracy, it is a wonderful experience to work in a space that her son played such a big part in the making.

An elaborate professional lighting system works for both exhibiting artworks or with daylight bulbs for painting when needed. A bespoke made copper canopy above the worktop hides a daylight fluorescent light. However, with the extra large roof lights daylight floods thisspace. The beautiful reclaimed maple floor was installed by Tracy’s partner Steve and this adds to the overall feeling of calm and light. Well hidden storage is carefully customised to use the space to a maximum. A bespoke made Island unit with a zinc top work surface is perfect for Tracy for her printmaking.

There are  lovely handmade ceramic coffee cups by Kasper Wurtz to welcome you to stay for a coffee and sit on the gorgeous Carl Hansen leather seating. Attention to detail even includes the toilet roll holder , if you can find the well hidden loo!

Windows to the floor allow the carefully planted courtyard garden to come indoors and the views of the Estuary are opened up.
